Birding Basics
Tyler Christensen

Due to the popularity of this workshop series, we are again offering our Birding Basics classes to introduce new birders to the fundamentals of birding and birdwatching. We will visit three of the top birding destinations in our region, and will focus on learning the techniques necessary to start recognizing common species along with their habits and behaviors. The first program will be an indoor presentation held at the Stony Brook Millstone Watershed Association, in Pennington; this will be followed by two outdoor birding workshops, one at Baldpate Mountain, in Titusville, and the other at Mercer County Park, West Windsor. This program series is an opportunity to visit nearby birding hotspots, get advice from experienced local birders, enjoy up-close encounters with birds, and develop your birding skills.
