An egyptian goose was observed by the participants of the WCAS field trip to the Mercer County Park in Hamilton, NJ on October 23, 1999. Apparently, it (or another?) was in the park on December 5, 1999 when Mike Lee shot the image above. Since this bird species is not native to North America, it is likely that it has escaped from someones collection (maybe Six Flags Great Adventure although they deny any of theirs are missing). I hope you can get a chance to catch a glimpse of this beatiful and exotic bird soon.
