Volunteers Needed For Roadside Cleanup - November 8
Pat Sziber
We're mean, we're green, we keep it clean on 518! Our 3-mile stretch of Rt. 518 in Hopewell Township, that is. Twice each year, as part of a program funded by a NJDEP Clean Communities grant administered by Friends of Hopewell Valley Open Space, volunteers of all ages pick up litter along many miles of township roads. We've been tackling our route for several years and the cleanup makes a noticeable difference. Volunteers earn a free t-shirt and cash for their designated nonprofit. You can help WCAS earn some badly needed dollars by spending just two hours or so on our litter patrol. Meet 9:00 am Saturday, November 8 in the parking lot of St. Peter's Lutheran Church at the corner of Routes 518 and 579. Please contact Pat Sziber if you plan to participate at conservation@washingtoncrossingaudubon.org or leave a message at 609-737-1189.
