|Donations to WCAS|
In addition to basic membership contributions, the Washington Crossing AudubonSociety receives substantial support from foundations, corporations, and private individuals.
Several years ago through a generous bequest from the estate of Roberta "Polly" Holden, a long-time resident of the Hopewell Valley and supporter of environmental causes, Washington Crossing Audubon Society has been able to establish a fund to support our work to preserve habitat for wildlife in central New Jersey. The Polly Holden Conservation Endowment enables us to have a stable source of funding for such projects as biological inventories and surveys of land that is under consideration for acquisition or conservation easement, research into endangered species on public property, and educational programs to enlighten schoolchildren about preservation of habitat. Other donations have been made in the memory of Chapter members or to support specific programs such as the Featherbed Lane Bird Banding Station, these donations provide essential funding for WCAS' environmental activities.
You can contribute bonds, appreciated stocks, or mutual fund shares. You may prefer to plan a deferred gift, such as a bequest in your will, or a beneficiary designation of your IRA, life insurance policy, or Charitable Remainder Trust. All of the above contributions to the Washington Crossing Audubon Society are tax deductable.
Whether you are interested in making a gift now or are contemplating future donations to WCAS, please contact Michael Kaplan, WCAS Treasurer, to discuss your interests and learn more about opportunities to support the Watershed Association's critical work.
