The Great Backyard Bird Count 2000 will take place from February 18-21, 2000. The National Audubon Society and the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology are again the cosponsors. Last year 42,000 people participated, and over three million birds of 350 species were tallied. Anyone can participate anywhere. Just count the birds you see at your backyard feeder, a local park or other area, then enter your reports online at the user-friendly website developed by the Cornell Lab and Audubon. More information on this in the next issue of The Crossing, at our programs and at www.birdsource.org/gbbc/.
