Roadless Rule Upheld
Pat Sziber

On December 12, the U.S. 9th Circuit Court in Boise, Idaho, overturned the so-called Roadless Rule Injunction. For the time being, this makes the Roadless Rule, as it was announced by the Clinton Administration, law. This is good news, but we need to keep a close eye on the issue of roadless area protection in our national forests.

What you can do: Stay on top of this and other pressing conservation issues by subscribing to the Audubon Advisory on the web. Advisory updates on forests, wildlife and habitat are posted at least every two weeks. In addition to staying informed, you can take action in a timely fashion directly from your keyboard. And it's free. Go to www.audubon.org and click on "Sign up for Audubon Advisory" on the right hand side of the homepage.
