Subject: [JerseyBirds] American Kestrels - Urban!
Hello,
I am doing a study of urban nesting kestrels in NYC...we have about
15-25 pairs nesting on Manhattan Island alone...and likely a total of
40-50 pairs (at least) nesting throughout NYC.
I am trying to determine the status of this little falcon in other
cities in the area...particularly urban areas of NJ such as Jersey
City, Paterson, Trenton --- real urban places that most birders
dread, avoid, etc..
Email me:
rdcny@earthlink.netAnd if anyone is interested, our kestrel assessment team (kat)
developed flyers in 11 languages (including Korean, German, Dutch,
Japanese, Spanish, Italian) to provide info and solicit information
from NYC folks. We would be happy to email any version to anyone
interested in seeing/reading about NYC kestrels.
Regards from Des Bronx,
Robert DeCandido
